do you have to reach a certain age to play airsoft?
i live in virginia
You have to be 18 to BUY an airsoft gun,
but younger folk can own them with their parents permission.
How much younger?
I’d say that age has a lot to do with how responsible of a kid you are.
I got my son his first one at age 12, with the understanding That He was to obey all rules we set for owning it, and we went over safety and common sense issues with him until we were satisfied he could handle the responsibility.
But that’s only part of it.
You said PLAY airsoft. In the case of organized play some orginizations MAY set age requirments. I don’t know. There are no organized teams where I live.
BUT there IS a requirement to play, you have to be old enough to not be upset when you get HIT. Airsoft bb’s STING.
If aprehension at the thought of being shot with one outweighs the desire to put yourself in a situation where it’s sure to happen, you haven’t reached the age at which the thrill of the game makes the threat of being hit worth it yet.
