Thursday, January 7th, 2010I have an airsoft gun with no orange painted tip. What kind of paint should I use to make it legal outdoors?
I bought an airsoft gun off eBay, but the owner bought it off RedWolf Airsoft, a company in Hong Kong, which paints guns with a semi-perminanent paint that eventually comes off with some paint thinner. Now, I want to sell the gun on eBay which requires it to have the muzzle painted at least 1/4″ in orange. What kind of paint should I use to paint it? What if I want to remove it for use in theatrical or movie productions? Is there a specific paint I should use?
If you are planning on selling the weapon on Ebay you don’t actually have to have the flash hider painted orange. After you take all of the photos of the weapon go into photo shop, or any other photo editor that will allow you to “paint” the flash hider orange. Another solution would be to use red or orange tape on the end of your flash hider, that way you could remove it if you wanted to. Other than that, if you really want the weapon painted, use Krylon blaze orange paint. After the paint has dried it’s easy to remove with a little paint thinner.
