can an airsoft gun break a face mask?
hi,
i just bought a face mask for airsofting, it is a scott (i don’t know the model). i just wanted it know if it can break from a shot. i don’t want to lose my eye or anything so thats why i want to know. the guy at the airsoft store (true edge) said it wont break even from point blank.

You’re probably okay. However, if you’re really worried, take a gun and shoot the mask with one 0.2 gram 6 mm plastic BB at 350 fps from point blank range.
You should also replace a mask if it ever develops a crack. Cracks may weaken the mask to unsafe levels. Also, for added safety, always make sure the mask is airtight to your face so an errant BB doesn’t slip in from the side.
