Full Metal Electric Airsoft Sniper Rifles

What kind of Airsoft sniper should I Get?
I’m in a squad of 2 maybe 3 depending on the scenario. My friend who is in the squad has a JG bar 10 and I was wondering if I should get a bar 10 as well, or an electric sniper rifle such as
the A&K Full Metal SPR MOD0

I was just thinking of getting a different gun than him but it seems like a fairly nice gun besides the whole mag catch thing.
And maybe I have the wrong idea here, I’d just like to know from an experienced airsofter what kind of airsoft sniper I should buy.
If anyone can help me, it’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
First of all, hopefully this is not your first airsoft weapon. If it is, don’t get a sniper rifle as a first gun. Period. This is what many people(me being one of them) find out the hard way.
Now, the rest of the answer is assuming that this isn’t your first weapon. If you’ll be part of a fireteam(2 man squad, usually used for a sniper team), I’m hoping that you both won’t be using sniper rifles. A good sniper fireteam has a sniper and a spotter. I’m not going to go into details, but the spotter should be armed with a medium ranged AEG.
As for the weapon itself, you need to ask yourself a question: are you planning on upgrading your gun? If the answer is no, then the UTG Mk96, is the best stock rifle.
If you’re planning on upgrading, JG BAR-10 is an “Ok” choice, since it’s TM compatible. TM has always been the gold standard when it comes to stock internals. The VSR-10 has an excellent stock hop-up(unlike the BAR-10). But it shoots slow, so you’ll need to upgrade it.
A good sniper AEG/DMR(designated marksman rifle), upgraded to 450-500 fps with .25s(semi-auto only), is a nice all-around choice as it can provide more fire power than a bolt action rifle. Sniper AEGs are more costly to maintain due to the very high stress on the internals, so if you want to go that route, be prepared to occasionally buy things like replacement pistons.
