How do I convince my parents to let me get an airsoft gun?
Hello, if you can please help me with my problem. I have little experience with airsoft guns and I want this just to practice aim and marksmenship and becuase i love the real life version of it. my parents say that airsoft guns are to dangerous and that i’ll get hurt. however i am never planning on shooting a friend, person, or animal with it, only targets like cans and such. how can I show my parents that if i use safety equipment and use caution that there is nothing wrong with getting this gun? and would you agree that this gun is a safe airsoft gun? thanks in advance!
First off, your wording is very important when explaining it to them. To help my friend get his gun, instead of that name, I made it sound small and jovial presenting it as a airsoft toy.
You also need to prove that you are totally committed to safety and have absolute knowledge about what you are buying and how to use it properly. Even buy the safety gear in advance and even set up a proper, out of sight range. Another bigie don’t is not let it be known that you’re basing your want of this gun of the all-too-real deadly gun. Have no association between your ‘toy’ and the real thing.
The most important thing in any situation psychology-wise when talking to your parents however is: Remain Calm. Even if what they say makes you angry, never scream or shout and never push to hard. Try asking when they are in a good mood. I never knew these and I had to learn the hard way. So that should be all when dealing with parents.
If you don’t get your way the first try, keep pushing another suitable time.
